Interior photography for me is a very exciting project and also a lot of fun. Interior photography is a complex process to get the right result. 8 simple tips for interior photography is based on my personal experience.
Light bulbs make unwanted shadows and color contamination, the camera cannot understand the colors as human eyes can, that’s why we have to control the environment before the camera ready to capture.
Use a tripod
when photographing interior I prefer to close my aperture and turn down my ISO as low as possible to get a sharp image, with a tripod I can sacrifice my shutter speed.
Keep all the lines straight
This day all camera has a good sensor to tell us the camera is not in good balance, but the camera cannot tell the lines are straight. Make sure all the lines are straight verticals are vertical and horizontals are horizontal.
Don’t over use wide lens
Everything in wide lens looks ok but DONT USE IT TOO MUCH! it’s hard for me to shoot wider than 24MM to dealing with distortion and a lot of effort in post-production or try another angle and composition rather than bring the whole scene in one single frame.
This is the hardest part of interior photography, the secret of successful interior photography is the composition. every photographer have to developed their own style and sense of art
Personally, I cannot shoot the interior without staging. During photoshoot moving the object such as a table, chair, a vase and other elements that support your composition to get the best result, even better if you have stylish to help you arrange the interior.
